For World Water Day, the We Are Water Foundation organised diverse activities for the general public at the Roca Barcelona Gallery.

Hundreds of families visited the symbolic building that weekend to take part in the Ludoteca d'aigua (water play-centre), to see the musical show Tot sona a la selva amazònica (Everything makes a sound in the Amazon jungle) or the puppet show Animalets (Little creatures).

These activities aimed at children were promoted by the We Are Water Foundation in the setting of World Water Day, to raise awareness in society about the need to create a new culture of water, starting with the boys and girls of Barcelona and its environs.

The series of activities explained, to more than 200 boys and girls, in a didactic and fun way, how to behave in a more sustainable way and help ensure that water is a well-used resource. With these types of activities, children assimilate the importance of this resource in an easy and entertaining way.

The Foundation organises different activities around the world

The We Are Water Foundation, through several of its international branches, organised diverse activities and undertook different actions in the setting of World Water Day in different capitals around the world.

One of the actions organised by the Foundation was that of sending messages of support via SMS.

A significant example of this action was in India, where 1 million SMS were sent with the text: "By 2025, demand for water will be 56% more than what the planet can provide. Let´s use water responsibly. Find out more at wearewater.org. ROCA LOVES THE PLANET".

Another initiative of the Foundation during World Water Day was the screening in different countries of its first documentary:  Aral, el mar perdido (Aral, the lost sea) by the film director Isabel Coixet .

Some of the places where it was shown were: the Dubai Festival City, at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development of Dubai; at the International Environmental Forum of the Baltic Sea, in St. Petersburg; at the University of Dobrich; at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia and in the Centre of Art in Warsaw, among others.

Presentations were given and round table discussions organised about the problem of water and the aims of the Foundation; there were also radio and television programmes; such as on Bulgarian national radio, through the representative of the Foundation in Bulgaria, Sergio Castro.

Alana Machatova, representative of the Foundation in the Czech Republic, took part in a special programme about World Water Day on Czech national TV.

Marina Sidorina, representative of the Foundation in Russia, led the round table discussion in which there was a debate about the problem of water in big cities. The Foundation was also presented in Greece, specifically in Athens, in the Gold Class Village Cinemas, with the presence of the Greek composer Eugenia Manolidou, showing all her support for the Foundation.

Among other initiatives to raise funds, the Foundation, together with the Polish Humanitarian Action organised a concert in Warsaw, in the Fabryka Trzciny Art Centre, attended by some 500 people.
