Álvaro Ron

He is a Spanish producer and director. He started his career when he was 16 years old, writing and producing a night show for Salud/Onda Cero in Barcelona. He wrote, produced and directed his own musical in 2001, Una noche en Broadway, being selected as one of the six most talented young directors that year by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He then received a scholarship from the Sociedad General de Autores (Spanish Society of Publishers and Authors) and a grant from La Caixa to study Film Direction at UCLA (U.S.A.) and at the Los Angeles Film School.

He has written and directed seven awarded short films, including Summer Splendor (official video for Splendor in the Grass by Pink Martini), The Yawn Jar, with James Merendino and Behind the Curtain, featuring the Emmy award winner Peter Mac Nicol. He has also directed and produced the acclaimed television series La Chica de Ayer (adaptation of the original BBC series Life on Mars) for Antena 3 TV.
