Gael García Bernal

Actor

Mexican actor, producer and director, winner of a Golden Globe for his role in the series Mozart in the Jungle. He has starred in films in Mexico, United States, Argentina, Spain, Chile, Bolivia, France and Brazil: six of them have been nominated to the Oscars.

He started his acting career in small theater plays. His television debut took place in 1989, when he was only 11. After his teenage years he moved to London to attend the Central School of Speech and Drama, where he would start his Drama studies and would make his first appearances in short films, such as De tripas corazón in 1996. His first film, Amores perros, premiered in the year 2000 and was a box-office hit, with an Oscar nomination to Best Foreign Film. This feature film would be followed by many others, such as Y tu mamá también or El crimen del Padre Amaro, among others, which were also recognized by the Academy. 

He was cast for the film También la lluvia, directed by Icíar Bollain. The actor is an environmental activist, attaching great importance to the issue of ecology.
