We Art Water Film Festival
Participative success

  • Great participative success in the first We Art Water Film Festival: more than 500 participants from 80 countries.
  • The public can vote for their favourite video, from a selection of 98, for the Public Prize category, until the 31 May, through the foundation's website.
  • The foundation is committed to the active participation of the internet-using public through its website and its presence on Facebook.
  • The 4 winners of this first edition in 2012 to be announced shortly.

New projects, the same philosophy

  • After fulfilling the objectives of solidarity in its first stage, the We Are Water Foundation continues its work supporting four new projects for 2012.
  • Education without Frontiers, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, Oxfam International and UNICEF continue to be the organisations with which the We Are Water Foundation is still collaborating in new areas of Ecuador, Bolivia, India and Brazil.
  • The new projects are framed within what has been the Foundation's philosophy since its beginnings: to deal with problems deriving from a lack of hydric resources from a global perspective, taking in its educational and health aspects and the adaptation of infrastructures.

For World Water Day

  • The We Are Water Foundation promotes awareness about food security with diverse international events.
  • Food insecurity is one of the most alarming problems relating to the lack of water.
  • The Foundation creates an application for smartphones and tablets (Apple setting) that will inform about the Hydric Footprint of different foods and recipes from the 5 continents. It will also serve to raise funds for the Foundation's projects.

We Art Water Film Festival
For a new culture of water through audiovisual art

  • The We Are Water Foundation is continuing with its commitment to audiovisual creation in order to raise awareness and create a new culture of water.
  • The subject matter of the We Art Water Festival is based on World Water Day 2012: "Water and Food Security".
  • The call for entries has been made through the 150 best film schools in the world, from 56 countries spread across the five continents.
  • The prize-winners will win a trip to one of the countries in which the Foundation undertakes cooperation projects to film a documentary.
  • The UN supports the Festival through its agency in Brussels.
