Jose Luis Rebordinos

Director of San Sebastian Festival

Director of the San Sebastian Film Festival since 2011, he is also a member of the European Film Academy (EFA) and Honorary Member of the Argentinian Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Spanish cabinet awarded him the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts in 2015. With a degree in Special Pedagogy, he was the director of the Film Unit of Donostia Kultura for 22 years. Director of the San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival for 21 years and of the San Sebastian Human Rights Film Festival for 8. He has directed the Nosferatu book collection for 22 years. He is the co-author of different books on Basque filmmakers, such as Elías Querejeta, Montxo Armendáriz, Antxon Eceiza, Julio Medem, Javier Aguirresarobe, etc., as well as on Asian cinema (Shinya Tsukamoto, poeta y guerrillero del cinematógrafo) or on different topics (El dolor, los nervios culturales del sufrimiento - Breve historia del cortometraje vasco). In October 2017 he was a member of the jury of the Asian Future section at the 30th edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival. In August 2018, he was a member of the First Look Jury at the Locarno Festival.
