He studied architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City from 1986 to 1990. After an internship with Leason Pomeroy & Associates in Irvine, U.S.A.; Martorell, Bohigas y Mackay in Barcelona; and Fumihiko Maki in Japan; he joined Legorreta Arquitectos in 1989.
Two years later he became a partner at Legorreta Arquitectos. And since 2001 he is partner, general and design director at Legorreta + Legorreta (currently LEGORRETA®). He has given talks at Universities and Conferences both in the United States and in Latin America, and recently in the Middle East. He has also been a member of several jury panels, like at the Design Awards of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
